Amber Hotel

Clean hotel & pleasant staff, slightly out of the centre which we wanted but a nice 25 minute stroll into town

The hotel was nice and clean, and the beds were comfortable. We arrived at 2.00 am and the check-in was very smooth. We were very tired and slept long, so we left the room on the spot at check-out time. I apologised to the receptionist for leaving last minute, but she was very understanding and said she saw a late check-in for our room and didn't call us to rush us, which was very kind. We left the car at the hotel car park after check-out and took a taxi to the Christmas market, and returned by taxi to the hotel's car park. The next day, I realised that I had lost my daughter's passport in Gdansk. I was planning to go to the police station close to the town centre the following day but before doing that, I called Amber hotel as I thought that I dropped the passport when getting out of the cab. The receptionist informed me that a taxi driver called a hotel earlier informing them about the passport left in his car and that the manager would call me back later as he was involved in this matter. The manager called me an hour later, checked the name of the passport holder with me, and gave me the driver's mobile number. This was such a relief ! Thank you to the hotel staff for being so friendly and helpful. From the beginning, we were treated very kindly by literally each staff member of the hotel, and when the problem occurred, which wasn't even the hotel's issue, we still received support and help, thank you to the manager who called me and to all hotel employees.

No better place to stay in Gdansk, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff extends more than hello and goodbye - weeks after checking out I will still communicating with them to get help and information! For any solo traveller or cyclist you are in very safe hands! Great room, fab restaurant and breakfast; it's a 1.8km downhill walk into town and I've never paid more than £5 for an Uber back!

A big and spacious hotel room, actually consisting of 2 rooms, a very comfortable bed, lots of blankets, pillows and towels. It was very warm and cosy. A very good minibar with a good choice, lots of bottles with water, both still and sparkling. There is also a kettle with a good choice of tea and coffee. All is very comfortable and well equipped and well thought out for a homey stay. A very big and spacious bathroom with both a shower and a jacuzzi ❤

I booked a double room for 2 people but they gave me a double room literally with 2 rooms, which was spacious and very clean, worth the budget. Breakfast was good. Location was near bus stations for easy transportation. It is quiet and good for relaxation. Hopefully soon, parking will be free of charge if you’re a hotel guest.
